We hope you will make every effort to attend one of the circles listed to the left. If you are already a circle member, then we look forward to seeing you at our regular monthly meetings. If you are new to Holy Trinity or have not yet visited a circle, then we hope you will select a circle to visit this month. You will enjoy lively discussions of Bible-based topics, refreshments and social time. For more information, please contact either the circle leader listed, or membership chair Vicki Coleman.
by Margaret Feinberg
In the foreword, Luci Swindoll writes –
Years
ago I decided to count the number of artistic projects I could make
without ever leaving home. This included all the materials, tools,
directions, sketches, and ideas that were actually in my house. I
wanted to know how long I could create things with only what I had
on hand. Would you believe the total came to seven years? I laughed
out loud.
Before you dive into this book, read what the apostle Paul has to say about creativity. In Galatians 6:4, he writes “Let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.” Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.
The author Margaret Feinberg describes her study as a douse in the creativity of God as if it were a cool spring on a hot summer day. Her hope is that you’ll decide to make time to pull off your shoes and experience the delight that comes with trying something new and unexpected. You may just find yourself refreshed and rejuvenated in ways you never imagined!
We live in a world where we are constantly pressed with demands on every side, sometimes they can squeeze the life and creativity out of us. My hope and prayer is that through this study you will once again become awestruck by the Creator of the universe and all He has done and is continuing to do through your life.
That sums it up, doesn’t it? Once we sink ourselves into the work we’ve been given, God will give us ways to express ourselves that are unique to us. And remember, you don’t have to be artistic to be creative. Trust me on this – fresh, creative ideas will come, and your life will be filled to the brim with joy.
Maybe you’ll even make something with your hands.
